About Us

Who is the Fountain of Love choir?

The Fountain of Love choir is a Jordanian Catholic choir with an ecumenical mission. It was founded during the Christmas season in 2002 with the aim of performing Christmas carols, but the first official performance was during Easter season 2003. Over the years, the choir has grown to include around 70 vocalists, as well as musicians, from various age groups and denominations.

The choir’s program includes both Western and Eastern classical pieces, in addition to Byzantine and contemporary hymns. Since its founding, the choir has performed numerous concerts and participated in various masses on different occasions in Jordan and around the world. In 2013, the choir expanded further with the establishment of the “Fountain of Love House” – the place where all choir rehearsals and activities take place – which became part of the Assembly of the Catholic Ordinaries of the Holy Land (ACOHL)

Our Name

The name “Fountain of Love” or (Yanbou al Mahaba in Arabic) is inspired by the everlasting fountain of boundless love that flowed from Christ’s side pierced by the spear for the salvation of humanity. We see Him approaching the sinful Samaritan woman at the well to speak to her about salvation and to offer her a spring of water from which whoever drinks will never thirst again.

The choir also carries a guiding verse as its motto: “Trust in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.” (Psalm 37:4) where each part of the logo symbolizes the following:

  • The hands refer to Christ, who gives love to the world
  • The lightening flame refers the light of Christ that shines to the world
  • P X is a sign of peace and the love of Christ
  • The Cross symbolizes the crucifixion of Christ, which denotes the death and resurrection of Christ
  • The spring (lines) symbolizes the constant flow of the love of Christ
  • The music key indicates music and hymns

We, as a choir, pray that our chants be a fountain of love for others, to help them develop their spiritual life.

Our Founder

The Fountain of Love Choir was founded in 2002 with a spiritual and artistic vision by the musician Touma Jabara, who leads the choir musically by constantly training and guiding the vocalists and musicians, as well as arranging the hymns and musical pieces performed by the choir.

Mr. Jabara studied music at the Music Academy in Amman. He also contributed to composing and writing several hymns for the choir, giving it a unique character. His work has given the choir a distinct artistic and spiritual identity, especially during Christmas and Easter seasons, having composed over 50 hymns and musical pieces.

The Theatre Vision

The Fountain of Love Theatre

The choir has incorporated acting in some of its concerts, which has added beauty and enrichment to the work performed. This kind of performance helps incarnate music and words into a tangible portrait, which in the end helps in conveying the choir’s message to the audience.

The theatre, however, will be in constant need of newcomers, which will be a great opportunity for young individuals who have a genuine talent to develop, train and sharpen their skills in the field of drama and its elements, which include acting, directing, and other stage elements such as the decor, accessories, costumes, lighting and stage management.

Our Achievements

  1. The choir has released several original albums under the following titles:
    • “Heal my Soul” in 2008

  1. The choir released the Arabic version of the World Christian Youth Days Anthem in Madrid, Spain, in August 2011, in the presence of His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI under the title “Firmly rooted in Faith”. The anthem was published for the first time in Arabic as a translation of the official anthem from the Spanish language. The work was translated by Father Rodrigo Maranda, with linguistic revision by Deacon Constant Evangelist Hayel Alamat, musical arrangement (for strings) by Murad Demirjian, and performance and chanting by the Fountain of Love Choir
  1. The choir composed the first Jordanian religious oratorio —the first of its kind in the Middle East — entitled “Jesus, the Fountain of Love” in 2014-2015. The duration of the oratorio is approximately two hours and consists of 26 scenes depicting the story of salvation: from the Nativity, through the life of Jesus, and culminating in redemption through His crucifixion, death, and resurrection.
This oratorio was performed for the first time in Jordan in 2015 during an Easter concert. It was recorded with the voices of the choir members and accompanied by the renowned Milan Orchestra, in preparation for the official release of the CD in September 2025.
In recognition and encouragement of this work, the choir has received a written Papal Blessing from His Holiness Pope Francis. Additionally, the choir was awarded the Papal Medal in April 2011, along with the Melody and Musical Analysis Award.
  1. The choir published its first hymnbook in 2019, entitled “Let Every Breath Praise the Lord”. The book features 100 hymns with lyrics, compositions, and musical arrangements entirely created by the choir. This publication represents the culmination of over two decades of liturgical and musical service, reflecting the choir’s spiritual mission and creative journey since its founding.
The hymnbook has been officially approved for use in Latin churches across Jordan by the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem – Jordan.
  1. Earlier this year (2025), the choir completed the composition of original melodies for hymns of the Latin Rite Mass — a pioneering initiative and the first of its kind in Jordan. This marks a significant local contribution to the development of liturgical music within the Latin Church. (To listen to the hymns, please visit the dedicated page.)
